RESOLUTION ON MLK LABOR’S NEED FOR A SEAT AT THE TABLE DURING THE COVID-19 RECOVERY
March 19, 2020
WHEREAS, the COVID-19 pandemic threatens the health and financial well-being of working people in King County. As the economy slows, workers, women, and people of color will suffer the greatest cost. Historically, the responses of policy-makers have focused on bailing out businesses and shareholders, with little concern for working people and union members.
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, the MLK Labor and other labor organizations have a seat at the table at all levels of government in King County and organizations such as the United Way, Seattle Foundation, and others convene to develop a response for workers to the damage caused by COVID-19.
