Resolution to Support Local Union 46, International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers

The following resolution was passed at the January 16 Delegates Meeting.
WHEREAS, Local Union 46, International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers has been affiliated with the Martin Luther King County Labor Council for nearly 70 years; and
WHEREAS, Local Union 46, International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers represents 75 Low Voltage Security Technicians employed by ADT, LLC a security system provider; and
WHEREAS, Local Union 46, International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers and ADT, LLC a security system provider, have been negotiating for over a year and a half and over 20 bargaining sessions; and
WHEREAS, Local Union 46, International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers and ADT, LLC, have not reached an agreement to take to the membership for a vote and have subsequently entered into mediation utilizing the services of the Federal Mediation Conciliation Service (FMCS); and
WHEREAS, ADT, LLC, has failed to respond in an acceptable manner to the core interests of the bargaining unit of any of the offers presented by Local Union 46, International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, causing a lack of labor harmony and unnecessarily prolonging resolution, therefore be it
RESOLVED, that the Martin Luther King County Labor Council, AFL-CIO will go on record of supporting IBEW 46 and their contract negotiations with ADT, LLC and be it further RESOLVED, that the Martin Luther King County Labor Council, AFL-CIO will communicate its support to the Public, The Greater Labor Community and its Allies in the community to seek any and all assistance or intervention in order to forgo any possible negative actions by any or all parties involved and will seek the assistance of all other unions in the City of Seattle and Martin Luther King County.
