The APALA Seattle Chapter invites all union members to their Community Engagement Project kickoff meeting on Wednesday, June 29 from 6-7 pm via Zoom. Registration: https://bit.ly/3H2KuNP. APALA will be sharing information about their new project and provide opportunities for collaboration.
APALA Seattle is one of the Community Based Organizations partnering with the City of Seattle’s Office of Planning & Community Development and the Seattle Department of Transportation around outreach and feedback on the Seattle Comprehensive Plan and Seattle Transportation Plan. As the city grows, what do people who live and/or work in Seattle want and need for a more equitable, livable, sustainable, and resilient city? What would make public transportation more safe, efficient, and affordable?
They hope to bring in the voices of Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) workers and those who have been invisibilized and not at the planning tables. At this kickoff, they will share more about the project, our strategy, and opportunities to have your members’ voices heard.
