MLK Labor Endorses Alexis Mercedes Rinck and Dionne Foster for Seattle City Council

MLK Labor Delegates, representing more than 150 unions and 150,000 union workers across King County, voted to endorse Alexis Mercedes Rinck for re-election in Seattle City Council in Position 8 and Dionne Foster for Seattle City Council in Position 9.
These are the first candidate endorsements that MLK Labor has made this year.
After the endorsements, MLK Labor Executive Secretary-Treasurer Katie Garrow issued the following statement:
“Seattle’s unions are proud to endorse Alexis Mercedes Rinck and Dionne Foster for City Council. Both Councilmember Rinck and Dionne have centered their campaigns on a commitment to workers’ rights, fair wages, and building a more affordable Seattle. Their leadership in local government is desperately needed over the next four years.”
On Alexis Mercedes Rinck:
“The Labor Community proudly endorses Councilmember Rinck for re-election in Position 8. In her short time in office, Councilmember Rinck has had an open door to workers and shown a dedication to standing up for workplace rights. We look forward to supporting her re-election this November.”
On Dionne Foster:
“MLK Labor is excited to endorse Dionne Foster for Seattle City Council Position 9. Dionne’s unwavering dedication to listening to the needs of workers and their unions shows that she will be a much-needed ally to working people at City Hall. We look forward to supporting her this November.”
