MLK Labor issued the following statement after the decision by the supreme court to overrule Roe vs. Wade.
“Today’s decision from the United States Supreme Court confirms what Americans had feared — millions of people across America no longer have a right to receive an abortion. Reproductive rights are fundamental to economic freedom and stability for working people. It is no question that Black, Indigenous, People of Color, working people, and the poor will be most hurt by this attack on their freedom.
Despite the decision by the extreme right-wing supreme court, the King County labor movement will continue to fight for the rights of people to choose when it comes to abortion and other reproductive health care. We must push for policies all levels of government to protect a person’s ability to choose.”
