Position Summary:

Assist customers, process sales, suggest add on sales, keep department merchandise in stock and recovered. Stock fashion, ad, and basic merchandise on the sales floor and/or display fixtures, and provide product information. Role model and demonstrate the Company's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion and safety of self and others.

Fred Meyer also requires that all associates perform all tasks in a safe manner consistent with corporate policies and state and federal laws.

 

Essential Job Functions:

  • Model "Customer 1st" behavior; deliver and encourage other associates to deliver excellent customer service
  • Answer telephones when necessary
  • Stock displays with new or back-stock merchandise
  • Set up advertising signs and display merchandise on fixtures to attract customers and promote sales as directed
  • Verify shelf stock levels are maintained
  • Maintain and recover assigned section(s)
  • Perform fitting room attendant duties
  • Build ends and displays
  • Comply with ticketing standards, apply Electronic Article Surveillance (EAS) security tags to operational standards
  • Comply with corporate policies
  • Promote and follow Company initiatives
  • Comply with all safety guidelines and standards
  • Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation
  • When working in Shoe Section:

o Maintain clean, safe work area to preserve customer safety; put away shoes left on floor

o Change displays

o Set up table and end cap displays

o Maintain and recover department

  • When Cashiering:

o Perform cashier functions when necessary: open/close register, ring sales, complete tender transactions, bag merchandise, make money drops

o Complete Not In File document

o Call for item verification

o Verify all Electronic Article Surveillance Tags are deactivated or removed from products at point of sale

o Respond to Electronic Article Surveillance pedestal activations, as necessary

  • When Price Changing:

o Complete price changes

o Audit and maintain signage, including ends and displays

o Maintain Universal Product Code (UPC) integrity

o Research and correct audits
