Job Summary
Shoreline Community College is dedicated to inclusive excellence in teaching and learning, student success, and community engagement. Faculty will teach college-level courses to professional technical students and transfer students in the Business Administration program. Courses will likely be:
Faculty also contribute to the department's efforts to improve student retention and success. Opportunities are available for teaching in learning communities, online, and in other non-traditional learning environments. In addition to teaching, the successful candidate will advise students, assist with assessment of current instructional methods, develop programs and curricula, and participate in Shoreline governance, department, division and campus-related professional activities.
AFT Washington is a state federation affiliated with the 1.6 million American Federation of Teachers, AFL-CIO. We represent about 6,500 members including faculty from the community and technical colleges and pre-K through 12 classified employees. We also jointly represent professors at Eastern, Central, and Western Washington universities and The Evergreen College with the Washington Education Association. The mission of AFT Washington is to voice the ideals of our locals and members for workplace fairness and social justice while strengthening and focusing their collective power to attain those ideals.
