Job Summary:
Quarterly faculty are hired to fulfill responsibilities which will be specified in their letter of appointment.
Unless otherwise specified in the quarterly faculty member's letter of appointment, workload consists solely of instruction.
All faculty are expected to engage in effective teaching and assessment of student learning.

Eastern is a regional, comprehensive university located in Cheney, 20 minutes from downtown Spokane. In addition to Easterns Cheney campus, we also offer courses in Spokane at the Catalyst Building and at Riverpoint Campus, plus additional teaching/learning centers located in other cities throughout Washington State. Enrollment has reached over 12,000 students. The Cheney-Spokane area is the heart of the Inland Northwest, with excellent restaurants, theater, shopping, skiing, hiking, lakes, a choice of living in a medium-sized city or a small town, and high quality schools and housing.

AFT Washington is a state federation affiliated with the 1.6 million American Federation of Teachers, AFL-CIO. We represent about 6,500 members including faculty from the community and technical colleges and pre-K through 12 classified employees. We also jointly represent professors at Eastern, Central, and Western Washington universities and The Evergreen College with the Washington Education Association. The mission of AFT Washington is to voice the ideals of our locals and members for workplace fairness and social justice while strengthening and focusing their collective power to attain those ideals.
